Two Pet Peeves

I'm sure others might draw a very different web; I know there are places where the arrows go both ways, and there are numerous other influences and outcomes. But this highlights my own pet peeves about the way the world is.

And for all you quick-on-your-feet bloggers who attended the SaskBloggers BBQ/picnic, this is what I wanted to say when I had all your attention and then had to say I lost my train of thought.

Now that I look at it, I guess I've probably said it before.

Ouch to losing your train of thought when you're standing up and talking in a group...big ouch.

Yep, I've been there too.

But if it should happen again I'll be all set for it. I'll simply stand there, smile broadly, and tell everyone that this is what it's like to have a senior moment, and surprisingly, life goes on. Smile, smile, gulp, gulp.

I have the years to prove my membership in that club. I doubt you do, so you'll have to modify it...something like...I wanted you all to know that I'm running a research project on what to do if a young person has a senior moment in public and how to make the most of it...or something like that.

**chuckle, chuckle** - thanks, Tim. I had a school bus driver who used to call me "Granny-Bags," so maybe I got a head start on the senior thing. I can picture myself now, 8 or 10 years old, shuffling across the schoolyard with my head down, mulling over all the classroom hubbub that I had sat back and observed that day. I spent so many years being a quiet self-absorbed observer-from-the-sidelines that it's still quite breathtaking to have a whole group of people turn to listen to me.

And listen I do.

I made the same remark at the Saskatoon Bloggers BBQ when only 4 other people were there. It's quite different arguing a point over the Interwebs, and actually speaking on a subject in person.

Tim - (catches breath) - gosh, yes, I wonder how many people out there on the web are listening to me? Stammer, stammer . . .

Saskboy - the same remark - about losing your train of thought? If so, my sympathies. I'm kind of amused that this post is generating discussion about that, and not about climate change and lifestyle changes and backlash from regulations and such. Guess I must have said enough on that topic already.
