Dear Sir,
We drive a 1996 Geo Metro. We decided to buy a newer, more fuel-efficient vehicle, and then found out that there is no such thing. The hybrids might get slightly better gas mileage, but not enough to offset the energy used in manufacturing a new car. We are appalled.
Sincerely,
Laura Herman

You should ask for a tax credit for keeping the 1996 Geo Metro. They are giving people $1000 off of brand new fuel efficient cars.... maybe people should be getting money for keeping their older fuel efficient cars?... I mean keeping them in good working order that is.
Hey, great idea! That would make an even better letter to our MP, or to the minister responsible for silly tax incentives...
You could also debate in your letter, that if people keeping their old fuel efficient cars were to get money back they could use it to get a tune-up.... which would make their cars even more fuel efficient.
Awesome.
